Congratulations and thank-you for choosing RemoteDesk. The following are instructions designed to help you install and implement the new license(s) you have purchased for RemoteDesk:
- What you will need:
- Have your original RemoteDesk CD-Rom ready. You will use this to create a floppy installation set for each site (see instructions below), or to install directly at each of the new license (remote) locations
- Increasing the Number of Remote Seats in the Administrator
- We will send you the number of serial numbers that you have purchased in your license pak
- As the Administrator, you have to enter the new remote client serial numbers to
increase the number of seats in your Remote Site Profile.
- To enter the serial
numbers use the Registration screen selected from the Help drop down menu.
- When the form is displayed, click on the "Enter New Remote Sites" button and
the serial number entry form is displayed.
- Type in the serial numbers that we sent you then click on Add Number.
- Send this completed registration form via e-mail to BSG, and we will send you a
reference number that will allow your number of remote seats to be increased.
- At this point, send the RemoteDesk remote client product floppy installation set to its destination. (See instructions below or your manual on how to create). This
will allow them to use sample data until you receive the Reference Number, and
can link them.
- Once you have received a new Reference Number, go to the Remote
Maintenance function on the Profile Menu. This will display the Administrator
Profile screen. Select the button "Add New Remote Sites
Here...". Enter in the Reference number that you received from BSG, and click
on the "Register New Remote Sites" button to save it. Your new total number
of "sites" is updated and displayed.

- How to Create Floppy Disks for Remote sites:
You can install the Remote Client site using the CD-Rom from the Administrator, or you
can create a floppy disk version to send to them. To do this, follow these instructions;
- Put the RemoteDesk CD-ROM in a computer that has both a floppy 3.5" and a
CD drive.
- Using Windows 95, run the create floppy program from the CD by typing
E:\FLOPPY\FLOPPY.EXE (this assumes your CD-ROM drive is E:).
- The program will prompt you to insert a blank 3.5" diskette into drive A:.
You will require eight 3.5", 1.44 MB (high density) blank diskettes to complete
this operation.
