Instructions for Setting up EDI-PAC/2000 with ACCPAC Windows O/E

      • Run the Setup.exe created from the Self-Extracting download file. Point it at your existing EDI-PAC directory This will update all EDI-PAC programs as well as create a new sub-directory called \templates under \EDIPAC2k directory.

      • Using the Windows Explorer, open the \EDIPAC2k\Templates directory. Double click on the AWSETUP.EXE program. This program configures and copies macro templates to the ACCPAC Windows \macro directory. This process prompts for the default Active macro directory. The ACCPAC macro directory is selected through the MACRO drop-down menu under "Options" from the ACCPAC desktop.

      • Setup the EDI-PAC processing icon in ACCPAC. Open the ACCPAC Windows O/E desktop. Go to the Order Entry and add a new icon. Click on the "Objects" menu and select "macro". The Description "EDIPAC/2000 Orders", The Macro is set to ...\macros\EDIOMA01.MAC" Use the Browse button to set the macro name shown here. This is installed when you ran the AWSETUP.EXE program. Click on OK and a new icon should appear on the desktop. Try it out by clicking on it. It should respond there is nothing to post.

      • In EDI-PAC, edit the Company Profile and select the Processing Option, to use "O/E auto-numbering" option if you need to. (turn the switch on, red light)

      • Now through EDI-PAC you can receive Inbound order batches. They are verified and translated and put in a batch file in the \macros directory.

      • Go to the ACCPAC O/E desktop and click on the new Icon created for EDI-PAC. It will post the existing order batch to ACCPAC O/E as active orders. Note that "price override" and "quantity shipped" are not supported in this version but will be in the next revision.

      • Normal O/E processing can now begin.

EDI-PAC/2000 Version 1.03 - Sept 99

  1. EDI-PAC 2000 includes support for the new Pervasive.SQL 7.0 and 2000 Btrieve products. Pervasive is no longer supporting the Btrieve 6.15. However EDI-PAC is now backward compatible with Btrieve 6.15 and the Pervasive.SQL Anyone with ACCPAC Windows version 4 or greater now requires this update. Program - EDIPAC2K.EXE, ACCPACWIN32.DLL

  2. Changes were made to the "Groups" form that is used for Customer/ item number translations. Groups can be defined so that a Group of items can be associated with many customers.

  3. Changes were made to the interface to ACCPAC OE to allow for more flexibility and variety of information being brought in. This will NOT affect any mapping or inbound file layouts. The following steps should be done to ensure proper setup.

Cycle 17 features:

  • 1. EDI-PAC now includes XAPI support with additional performance algorithms for enhanced speed. The Pervasive ODBC drivers are no longer required. All maintenance functions, record and field validation are enhanced.

  • 2. New fields have been added to the Company Profile for the ACCPAC database path setting and optional I/C Item format settings. The ACCPAC database path must be set before using any functions. The I/C item format contains the default format to use and an option whether or not to include the item formats with outbound transactions.

  • 3. The outbound document processing has proper range checking for all selectable fields.

  • 4. The Inbound processing has additional field verification added.

  • 5.The two Company Profile options ‘Delete Inbound Batches’ and ‘Process only EDI Customers’ are now implemented. The customer records that have been added to EDI-PAC Ship-to translations are considered the EDI customers to be processed by any outbound function. If you have specific customers that you want EDI-PAC to automatically filter out, make sure they are added to the Customer Ship-To Translation file.
